Calibration
Calibration establishes a geometric reference between the physical world and the captured camera images, ensuring accurate profiling results. It must be repeated every time the device is reassembled or if any laser projector has been adjusted.
As a general practice, recalibrate at least once per day to accommodate thermal and mechanical changes.
ℹ️Note: Calibration data is saved on the host computer. Recalibrate whenever switching to a different device on the same computer or when using the same device on a different computer.
Calibration Mode
- Remove all protective caps.
- Enter the calibration mode by clicking the Calibrate icon.

Calibration Process
ℹ️Note: The term calibration pins refers to the nine square-shaped protrusions on the calibration item. The pattern they form is called a calibration pattern.

Before proceeding, make sure the lasers are properly aligned.
Place the calibration item on the glass pane, parallel to the glass edge, so that the laser lines fall approximately at the centers of the calibration pins.

Calibrate the Top Camera
Each camera, top and bottom, is calibrated separately. Since both calibrations must share a common geometric reference, do not move the calibration item between the two calibration steps.
Start by calibrating the upper camera. Click the calibration icon, and set the exposure to the maximum.
Click the Reset () button to display the full frame,
then click and drag to define a region around the pattern. Use the right mouse button to reposition the region borders.

Next, adjust the Exposure slider so that the live view is free of overexposure artifacts. Green circles indicate the detected position of each calibration pin. When all circles are positioned precisely on the pin corners, click Capture. Red crosses confirm a successful capture.

A successful top camera calibration is shown below:

Calibrate the Bottom Camera
Switch to the bottom camera. Do not move the calibration item between the two captures.

Repeat the calibration process. A successful bottom camera calibration is shown below:

After both cameras have been calibrated, exit the calibration mode by clicking the Calibrate icon again.
Validation
To verify that the calibration has been completed properly, leave the calibration item in place and switch to Capture Profile mode.

Adjust the exposures and crop windows for both cameras. The calibration pattern should appear outlined by a thin red line, free of geometric distortion.
