Lens Selection
The High-Resolution Photo Addon includes two interchangeable lenses. Choose the lens according to the size of the area you want to photograph and the level of detail required.
16 mm Full-FOV Lens
Use the 16 mm Full-FOV Lens as the standard lens for routine photography. It captures the full field of view (FOV), covering approximately the same area as the standard color camera, with approximately twice as many pixels per millimeter.
50 mm Close-up Lens
Switch to the 50 mm Close-up Lens to photograph small samples or a selected area of a larger sample, such as decoration, an inscription, or a manufacturing trace. It covers a smaller area, with approximately 8 times as many pixels per millimeter as the standard color camera.

Image Scale and Detail
The number of pixels per millimeter indicates how many image pixels represent 1 mm on the sample. A higher value provides more pixels for recording a small feature.
The following comparison uses the horizontal image width and the measured horizontal field of view, with a flat sample placed directly on the glass pane.
| Camera and lens | Image width | Horizontal FOV | Pixels per millimeter |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard color camera, 8 mm lens | 2500 px | 260 mm | 10 |
| High-resolution camera, 16 mm lens | 5472 px | 270 mm | 20 |
| High-resolution camera, 50 mm lens | 5472 px | 70 mm | 78 |

ℹ️ Note: A feature measuring 1 mm across spans approximately 10 pixels with the standard camera, 20 pixels with the 16 mm Full-FOV Lens, and 78 pixels with the 50 mm Close-up Lens. These values describe image sampling rather than measured optical resolving power. The detail visible in a photograph also depends on focus and lighting.
